New Westport business offers innovative approach to home entertainment

The longtime Westport resident firmly believes that as people discover the benefits, convenience and tech magic of his disappearing media wall units, they will definitely want one of their own.

Motyl founded Vanish Media Systems earlier this year based on the idea of offering large screen access — with screen sizes at 100, 110 and 120 inches — that can effortlessly be hidden away in a cabinet or credenza built for that purpose.

“I’m confident that this will be successful,” said Motyl, who enjoyed a first career as a bond salesman in New York City before entering into house design and construction.

Mark Motyl moved to Westport in 2001. He and his wife, Susan (co-founder of the anti-bullying program Kool To Be Kind) eventually bought a house, which they loved. But by 2014 they were ready to design their dream home. Mark was selling convertible bonds, but he found that he enjoyed the creativity and details of home building and design, so he contracted the work himself.
